NOTE: Chicken House Press is currently closed to submissions as the 2024-2025 traditional publishing calendar is now full. If you’re here because you bookmarked this page, please understand that, while you may complete and send the form, it will not be viewed and responded to until calendar space has been made to once again vet submissions which is anticipated to occur in early 2025.

If you’re here, you’re serious.

You’ve written the best book you can. You’ve vetted it through a number of trusted readers and advisors and edited to the best of your own abilities based on their feedback. You are ready to take that next step and see if a publisher might take a chance on you. You are willing to do the work of promotion, you just need someone to tell you what to do. You understand that Chicken House Press is looking to fill their 2025 publishing calendar and feel your manuscript would be a great fit.

Chicken House Press is accepting submissions of FICTION only for traditional publishing. This may change in the future, but please do not submit anything other than fiction through this form. For children’s books, non-fiction, memoir, and poetry, please see the publishing package offered here.

Fill out the form below. The more detail you can provide, the better.

 What happens next?

All submissions go directly to Alanna. After reading your pitch she will reach out with either a kind rejection or a full manuscript request. Full manuscript requests do not guarantee publication. If the decision is made to pursue publication, Alanna will likely request a Zoom or phone meeting to ensure a good working relationship and that both parties are on the same page. If all goes well, you will be offered a no obligation contract that lays out the full terms of the agreement. If you decide to enter into the agreement, production will begin immediately. Time varies between signing and publication.

Please understand that Chicken House Press can only take on a small number of titles at a time. A rejection doesn’t necessarily mean your manuscript isn’t publishable. Alanna may encourage you to spend more time on edits or rewrites and then invite you to resubmit at a later date.
