Shipping & Handling

Now offering Amazon Prime shipping on all new book orders to Canada or US addresses. $1.99 flat rate + $0.99/item. Items will arrive in Amazon packaging from an Amazon warehouse rather than from Chicken House Press inventory. These orders usually arrive within 2 weeks of purchase. Hardcovers take longer. Pre-orders will generally begin shipping the week before launch.

I take care with every order, packaging and addressing each by hand.

In an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of Chicken House Press, I reuse as much packaging material as possible: boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, etc.

Domestic Shipping Policy

Shipment processing time

All orders are processed within 5 business days unless you are pre-ordering a book. We do not ship on weekends or holidays.

Orders are packaged and addressed by hand and sent out from our local post office through Canada Post. You will receive a fulfillment notification to the email associated with your customer account or your purchase order when the item has shipped. 

Bulk orders take longer and may ship directly from our printers via FexEx or UPS.

Shipping rates and delivery estimates

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. These are based on the weight of your total order. Pricing begins at $3.99.

We ship through Canada Post.

Regular mail within Canada

The delivery standard for regular mail sent inside Canada is:

• Two business days for local mail

• Three business days within the province

• Four days for national mail

These time frames are not guaranteed, as weather and mail volume can affect delivery.

Regular mail to the U.S.A.

The delivery standard for regular mail sent from Canada to the U.S.A. is four to six business days.

Regular mail to an international destination

The delivery standard for mail sent from Canada to another country (except the U.S.A.) is four to seven business days.

Shipment confirmation and order tracking

You will be notified on the day your order ships to the email address you provided at checkout. Tracking numbers are provided only for packages shipped within Canada and for orders that selected the trackable shipping option. (Orders over a half kilogram in weight will automatically have tracking applied.)

Customs, duties, and taxes

Chicken House Press is not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.). When we are able, we select “gift” as the reason for the shipment and in most cases, this should remove the necessity for duty fees.

International Shipping Policy

Chicken House Press will ship to anywhere in the world. Fees will be calculated at checkout.

Returns Policy

We cannot accept returns on any digital material. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We will accept returns on any unused merchandise within 30 days of the shipping date and will refund the full purchase price minus shipping costs and a 5% handling fee. Merchandise must be returned to us in new condition.
