Five Scholarships Available for Spring Virtual Writing Workshop

Through generous donations and the success of a large used book sale at the end of February, Chicken House Press has boosted the Writers of Tomorrow Bursary Fund enough to provide FIVE SCHOLARSHIPS to the Spring Virtual Writing Workshop.

Happening through evening sessions (Monday, May 8 - Friday, May 12) the workshop is designed to teach children about their unique voice and ignite a love of storytelling through encouraging teaching and interactive discussion.

As everything becomes more expensive, I want to make sure the things that add value and encourage creativity and imagination aren’t passed over because of finances. If you know a deserving child between the ages of 9 and 12 who would benefit from this workshop, consider signing them up.

If finances aren’t a struggle for you, think about leaving the scholarship for a child who might not have access to a program like this otherwise. That being said, I will never ask you to explain your financial situation if you apply for a full or partial scholarship — I only want to know why you think your child would want to participate and how they will be benefited by spending this time with me.

Interested in an in-person option? I’m currently working with the local art gallery to coordinate some potential dates. Stay tuned for more information on that.
