— What can ARP do for you? —
ARP is not a traditional publishing house, nor is it a vanity publisher. ARP exists to help your book exist. With my help, you can put your hard work out in the world, packaged in a way that meets your vision and makes you proud.
Traditional Publishing: A company acquires the rights to an author's manuscript, fronts the costs for editing/layout/printing/marketing/distribution, and shares royalties on final sales. (If you are interested in this model, Chicken House Press takes on a few traditional projects per year.)
Vanity Publishing: Bringing a book to market on the author's dollar and taking a cut of the final royalties.
Self Publishing: The process in which an author does all the work themselves, finding reputable editors, designers, printing companies, as well as finance and control their own marketing and distribution.
Alanna Rusnak Publishing: doesn’t fit into any of the established moulds. I strongly believe that if you have a project you're passionate about, it's worth putting it out in the world and I will do everything in my power to see that happen. ARP will support you from initial edit to final published product, never leaving you in the dark, always available to answer your questions, and proud to guide you as you watch your dream go from idea to reality.
Many authors are not versed in the technology needed to see a book from conception to on-the-shelf—and why would they be? An authors concern is word and story; Alanna Rusnak Publishing is here to help you through the rest. For competitive fees I can edit, design interior layouts, and/or give you a cover you can be proud of. If you so desire, I can go the full distance with you, publishing your book under an ISBN I own; but unlike vanity publishers, I will not take a cut of your royalties for the first year, nor will I hold rights to anything I create for you. All files created under the title of your book will be released to you for use in any way you see fit—I only ask that when the time comes, you give proper credit where credit is due.
Currently accepting editing/full package projects of fiction, poetry, or memoir. Cover design and interior layout is open to all genres.

ARP Pricing
ARP is a service-based publishing house, meaning my income is based on all the work I do before your book is published. Rights always remain with the original author and I keep no royalties for the first twelve months after publication (for titles published under the FULL PACKAGE option), after which I will retain 5% to cover your title maintenance. Authors are able to select individual services to meet their needs (i.e. cover design for their self-published book).

From editing to design to final product, Alanna can take your dream and turn it into something you can hold in your hands! By combining services into a start-to-finish package, you can save almost 30% and come away with something you can be proud of.

Copy Editing | $37.50 up to 2500 words - 0.015/word following
Copy editing ensures that text is correct in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. It also ensures that the idea the writer wishes to portray is clear and easy to understand, that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency, and repetition. Copy editing should only occur after the author has been through multiple stages of beta reading and rewrites.
Interior Layout Design | $560 (eBook Layout | $210)
There's much to consider when thinking about what you want the interior of your book to look like: Chapter titles, drop-caps, font size and spacing, etc. Alanna will work with you to create the best possible layout, based on your theme, aesthetic, and personal tastes. (Add an eBook layout to your print book layout purchase for just $40)
Cover Design | $497 (eBook or Audio Book Cover Design | $329)
Do you believe the old adage ‘you can't judge a book by its cover’? Think again! Your content could be beautifully written, professionally edited, and expertly laid out but without an attractive cover, readers may overlook your book...and what a shame that would be! Using high quality photography and eye-catching fonts, Alanna can deliver the kind of cover that encourages book sales. (An eBook cover is included for free with the purchase of a print book cover)

Simple Website Design & Hosting | $735+
It is important for an author to have an online space to showcase their work. Let Alanna build you a beautiful home for your books with a custom domain name. Additional costs include extra pages, hosting, and maintenance.
